Its raining, people!

Was it the pre monsoon showers or what but it rained today. Going out should be a pleasure now. Have suffered enough by being told by the folks and friends back home of the continuous showers there! Yippieeeeee! :-D More rains to come?
What I do best-corner a guy and force him to buy me flowers! :) This time it was my neighbour.
(Taken with the cam of my phone. I think the pics are awesome. I dont even miss carrying my digi cam.)

In the summer time...

What is it with Levis and trying to sell nightie like dress cum tees? They're only perfect to wear in the winter for that snug feeling. I'd find them too much for even the summers. The market near my place is filled with the latest fashion and sadly, everyone who wants to be someone, will be in those latest designs. So one can find loads of prototypes around the University, so much so that it does get suffocating! Lets see how many wear these nightie thingies by next week. Anyway the summers still here. Well, except for some wind in the evenings which does provide some much needed respite. I'm constantly gulping down loads of juices, shakes and cold coffees and good old H2O :)

Sigh...

Wish I could drift away on one of these...The heat is killing and all I can do is whine about it!

Birthday Wishes...

for a fellow blogger and friend:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEHAK!!! (crackers bursting and trumpets rolling)Wishes from some of us :-D
T (!):
Mehak...she is fragrance of my life. Didnt even realise that its been more than two years since we got married... and we have enjoyed every day togeather...!! Writing this, I go back in the memory lane...our days trying to set up the house together...the cribbings about bangalore traffic and autowalahs (not that they have stopped now...)...riding the bike around the city...setting up houses time and again from one place to other....lots of smiles and some fights... Though I have to follow many strict rules from the master of the house, i just love being a brat in front of her :):)...and yes.. she has transformed to a great cook...(though she is too modest and critical of herself to admit that ;) ) I am glad that we are a couple!!!...wishing her a wonderful birthday and joyful years to come...(Well...that also means wonderful years for me ;-) ) Here's Ricky (!):
Mehakooo - I don't know what to say about her. She is a fighter...errr...she fights with me all the time. Right now she is chatting with me talking about blogging or rather not-blogging...lol. On a serious note, she is my first and best friend in the blog-world. We may not be blogging but always keep in touch with blogs one way or another. I cannot wait to meet her on my trip to India and fight in person :-P
This is her third birthday since I know her but it feels like we have been friends all our lives. My only wish is that she always be the way she is and all her dreams come true (ok these were two wishes but thoda adjust toh chalta hain).
Happy Birthday to the most beautiful person inside out. (Bas main thak gaya taarif kar kar ke)

Me (!):
What can I say about a Blog friend who's also become a good friend whom I can call anytime and have a chat with? What can I say about this friend who's always reminding me to be studying? Who threatens to spill it all to my parents someday soon? Who's always concerned about your welbeing? Well...a PAIN...but a good one...! And I wouldn't want to trade you for anything else in the world (Well, except for Wentworth Miller, JOKING!) Here's wishing a great birthday that'll be filled with loads of chocolates and flowers...And the entire new year filled with love, fun and peace. These pictures are from use but the real and tangible gifts is T's responsibility! (Haha, passing the buck now.) (PS-transformation to a good cook is good news for some of us!) :-p Have fun! *hugs*
Some more flowers....
This picture was taken with my new phone. (Not bad, huh?)

Its all about phases, my friend.

*Loads happening at the moment, from subsidary exams to entrances. And they arent going great. I studied an entire night for a subsidary only to reach the exam centre and be told that the Univ didnt send the paper. I'll know when the exam will happen next week. Fingers crossed. All I can do is despair and wait for the "exam/entrance" phase to go.

*Many familiar people are leaving for different reasons. These are people with whom I made so many pleasant memories. Now I might never meet them again. Its sad.

*Old friends making STD/ISD calls just to find out how I am makes me feel special and SMILE.

*Making plans of meeting up with friends I havent seen in "some" time excites me at the moment. Especially since I know that its going to happen very soon!

*Some things can never get better, they can only get worse. I have to stop begging Him to be just a friend. But I can't stop myself. Its a horrible feeling and phase.

*I wish getting fat was a temporary phase. Oh well, Im resigning myself to my not-so-temporary "fatness" phase.

*Im going through the "Superwoman" phase. Why? I flew all over town rescuing my non Delhite frm the airport and keeping him safe until he boared his next flight. Yay! to me.

*Im totally addicted to "Prison Break". I'm told its just been released in India but guess wat? I have both Season I and II...haha...Its should go without saying Wentworth (Drooooool) Miller is my latest crush :-D

Some of my fav. earrings. Tell me which one/s did u like best? My fav.? I loooooove them all :-)
Untill my exam/entrances phase gets over, take care people!

Of Proposals, Vokda Golgappas n Marriages...

Just when you think life couldn't get more boring with an injured knee, impending entrances and the heat, I got a proposal. Not just any proposal, this person has proposed to me thrice before and each time I've said no. Why would I do that despite the fact that he's gorgeous, tall n nice, if not anything else? I dont know. Maybe coz I still think I love someone else, just not ready to get into a relationship or simply coz I love reveling in my Single status. Anyway so this guy calls me the other day (since we're acquaintances, we catch up on and off) and starts abt how he misses me loads. (Wow! after all these months of not seeing each other?) And says he knew why I said no to him before. His reason-that my persception of him being a Playboy was right but he says he's changed. Here I was loosing my patience, what with my bad knee and having to get up early for work the next day.(Now I know how my ex feels when I call him all senti n drunk! Apologies.) Anyway if all that wasn't enough this guy had to add something like this-"Im sure you'll love me now. I have been working out and I have abs, a flat tummy and biceps. I'm sexy!" Yay! Good for you but I'm just not interested in Body Building! And wat is it, is he like Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest?! Despite telling him abt the accident he wanted to catch up with me this Saturday. Whatever. I was talking to Sandy abt it and Sandy thought I loved every bit of this attention but I didn't! Not when its coming frm the wrong person! Argh! Enough of messed up proposals!

Anyway u guys want to try out something diff? Try Golgappa with Vodka-its great! Not too sure if they serve it anywhere else but I had it in Punjabi by Nature.
Pete's been asking me why I havent written anything abt the Ash-Abhi wedding or why I didnt tell him Ash was getting married. Pete, knowing how much you adore Ash I thought I'd break the news gently :-D And what do I think of the wedding? She's such a kidnapper, Abhi's too young and cool for her.
Anyway I'd better publish this before any other glitches happen. I've had redo it twice! Doesn't Blogger recognise Cont Z button?! I'm off for today. Hoping you guys have a great week ahead!

Gross.

Reaction by a Colleague on the Virginia Tech Uni massacre was to smirk and say, "Teng, teng, teng"...Ugh...I guess if he was in there he'd not have the time or thoughts to react in this insensitive behaviour :-I

Its weird to know that we don't know whats going to happen to any of us and quietly leave it to God.

Take care people.

Enough!

Does he love me?
Maybe he does. Maybe he doesn't anymore.
Does he care? Maybe not. Maybe never.
But he said he did n he will,
Rem the day I was leaninging in your arms?
Will he come around? He might, but I don't think so.
But why not? He should. Shouldn't he?

Why doesnt she take my call? Or reply to my msgs?
Doesn't she see that I need her?
Just to unburden myself n talk abt the day.
You said you'd call but you didn't.
Can I call you now?

Do I look alright? Am I getting too fat?
Is my arse sticking out or is it my paunch?
Should I straighten my hair?
But why is she giving me that look?!
Am I looking weird? Or am I intimidating her?
Maybe Im beta, in the way I dress, walk, talk n laugh!
Maybe its the attention I get!

But why aren't you talking to me?
Was it me? Did I do something wrong?
But maybe its just you and not me.
Whatever it is, guess what? I don't give a fuck.
I'm going to be me.
You either take it or leave it.
I dont care.

Okies...Here's the latest abt me (Sandy, Mehak n Ricky already know abt it), I had a "stupid" accident on Sunday night and hurt my left knee and left elbow but im getting better. Tried relaxing on Monday but the thought of huge deductions on my salary n of my impending leaves, I went to work today. Was alright for most of the day except when I bumped my other feet on the wounded knee! It hurt so bad that I started crying...I know, I know Im a cry baby. With the wounds I cant wear anything else but loose clothings so I am sticking to wearing Salwar Kurtas. For one who doesnt look for too many plausible reasons I went ahead n bought myself some kurtas, a top n a skirt! I feel good but my knee hurts what with all the exertion! But I guess no pain, no gain. And guess what? I went to withdraw some cash and saw that I had got my arrears frm work! Shoes...here I come! :-D Anyway its late, I gotta hit the sack. Take care people.

Im just 23 people!

I thought I'd write abt my first Voice Over experience. So here I was yesterday all ready early (read 9 am) in the morning and I called Him to ask him how much it would cost me if I took an Auto (since it was quite close to his place). Im so sure His heart must have skipped a beat when I asked Him that. He must have feared that His nightmare was abt to become real! Im sure the entire morning He would have been restless and had a constant disgruntled look. Hehehe. Actually I should have told Him I'd drop by His place to tell His parents what a jerk their son was. (Ok, I got two horns and a tail and a wicked grin on my face now). Enough of that now.
Anyway, I reached my destination and got to know how one does a Voice Over for a media house. Interesting stuff-all new to me and thus exciting. I learnt abt voice modulation, accent neutralisation and pronounciation. Not bad! And since it was all new, I was just having fun, taking feed back and making more mistakes and grinning away. Considering it was the first time I had done something like this the feed back I got was....uhmm....good! That I had a nice voice which could be worked upon and improvised with :-D I think they're too generous with their comments. But hey, im not complaining. Im all kicked to learn more. Guess this experience was the closest I could get to imagine myself as an RJ! So all done with the voice over and I walk out to get myself another Auto when I came across this tree:
Looks like Big Foot stepped over the tree!
So I got an Auto and sit back, happy that the voice over went good and then you wont believe wat happened! The Auto guy starts digging into his mouth and throwing out stuff! I think it was tobacco in his mouth! Ewwwww...Gross! I counted my change coz I couldnt think that I would be able to accept any change frm his unwashed hands. I had abt 30 bucks in change and I asked him to stop the Auto when it was around 30 something. Hailed another Auto and instructed him to take me to CP. I thought I could relax now (this was around 1 pm, imagine the heat!) and then this guy starts digging his nose and this time I didnt have any loose change! Argh! I made him stop in a Mother Dairy booth frm where I picked up a juice and the all important change. When I eventually reached CP I let the guy keep the change that remained. For a person like me who's a cleanliness freak that borders on to an OCD, all this left me feeling very sick. Not looking for any other excuses I went to my fav place, Cha Bar where I ordered a fruit tart, thinking it would be a normal tart and an iced tea. When the tart came I was so surprised to see it topped with fresh colourful fruits and in my greed to have a bite of it, I forgot to take a picture of it! Next time I shall control my greed and show it to you guys as well. Do you even want to guess what book I picked up to read? Um...no prizes for guessing, Break ups! Read quite a bit of it but im still going to be me-Obstinate and dumb.
Oh you guys have to hear this: I just got back home from some grocery shopping. While paying the Rickshawalla and managing the bananas, veggies, buscuits and milk etc, this kid frm my Society I've never spoken to comes by and says, "Hello Aunty." Aunty?!!! :-O I would have pounced on the kid had it not been for the cumbersome bags and having to pay the Rick guy! Uff, thats the price one has to pay to be beautiful and 23! :-(

All apologies n others...

This isnt a proper post, its more like a note of apology to one of my friends to whom I was very rude last night! :-(

Dear X (I wont name you) I know I was very nasty to you last night. Here I was demeaning you instead of rejoicing in your promotion. I don't know what came over me to say such horrible things. Was it my general disdain to life or the pressure at work, I dont know! Ofcourse, its another matter that I did mean them but I had no right in saying it aloud to you! Maybe my irritation was not just for you, you would know that- I do get bugged by the minutest things (sometimes silliest as well, I know.) If I've said it ten times, I won't tire to say it again that you and your friendship matter to me more than the trivialities that we face everyday! I'm SORRY, sincerely. And here's a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to you for your promotion! You so deserve it! If you continue the way you are, you'll be headed for the stars very soon! Im hoping everything turns out fine for both of us at the end and our friendship remains for the yrs to come. Take care buddy!
Warmest regards,
Me.
(PS-Ok, considering the fact that Im letting go of loads of unwanted emotional baggages and friends, you'd beta be happy that I'm trying to redeem our friendship! ;-) )
-----------------------------------------------------------

I was listening to a radio show this morning and got to know that both the RJ's of the show were leaving the radio station for newer pastures. It came as a bolt of shock coz I've been listening to them for so many yrs now, almost 5 yrs! And then having to realise that I won't be hearing them anymore makes it weird n saddens me. One of the RJ's was leaving for Mumbai, so it made me think how everybody else was moving forward in life whereas I seem to be stuck.(Ok, thats wat I call a bout of self-pitying.)
What made it worse was during my lunch with Andy today, when we were talking about some of our common friends who've left India to go back to their own countries, Ethiopia and Mauritius. It was weird wondering if I'd ever meet them in this life time again. Or will it be in another birth or heaven that will enable us to meet again where we can party n make merry? Its scarey to think that I've reached that phase in life when someone's going makes a difference to me and the worse fact that I might never see them again. Life seems scarey at the moment.

Wishful thoughts

Things I'd rather be doing right now instead of working and feeling feverish:

1) Sleeping under my quilt!
2) Get a hug.
3) Be with my parents.
4) Go for a walk.
5) Have a nice cup of ginger tea. Hmmm...

Ok, time to get back to my work, sigh... Wat would you guys be rather doing as well? Comon, tell all!

Mehendi, K and more

I felt flighty on Saturday so I dragged K to the Market and got Mehendi done in my hand. If you look carefully you'll see that its a peacock thats been drawn on the hand. Like it? I love it :-D Yesterday was April Fools Day, did u guys manage to pull up any tricks? ;-) I tried n failed miserably! :-( Pete, I still cant forgive u! Wet blanket, u! :-p

Spent last evening with K. We went gorging on Street food and watched 'Namastey London'. Street food of Paneer tikki and Alu Chat and Kulfi was great but the movie was equally disastrous :-( Dont even make the mistake of watching it! It was CRAP. Akshay was acting so dumb. K loves him so he defended him saying the movie made him look bad. Watever! Katrina plays the dumb British brat with such an elan that by the end you want to throttle her to shut her up! But I thought Katrina's Brit bf was kinda cute but even he couldnt act to save his life or the movie. Anyway, my advice-do not waste time or cash on the movie!

K's moved to Jaipur today and I dont know when he'll be back. Anyway K now that ur gone, I can say that I'll miss you loads. Wonder who's going to bring me my daily quota of milk n bananas? ;-) But all the best with the new job! Im sure u'll have fun. Take care n get back soon to Delhi. Best wishes, Buddy.

Barapani Lake

I have been meaning to upload these pics in ages but, but they just remain to be done. I was in Barapani sometime January and the weather was glorious, just the right amount of Sun for a walk by the Lake. There's a story behind this Lake, as far as I can remember it was about this two sisters who were coming down from Heaven to Barapani. Only one of them made it here and she cried her heart out into a Lake because of that! By the way, this Lake is also called Umiam Lake. Check out the mist in this pic! Wonder who lives there all isolated? I couldnt have done that!
How abt a ride with a view people? And this, is one of my fav pics! Isnt the blueness of the watre against the wild flowers awesomely striking?
Take care people!

Hello!

Hello Magazine hits Indian Stores!!!

If you're like me, a sucker for Celebrity news and gossip, this is the magazine for you. What would make you a Celebrity news sucker? Well, if you can't get by the day without having read and dissected your copy of DT (Delhi Times) then you're definitely one. Anway Liz and Arun's Wedding was the main story for the first month. Sigh...those wedding pics were so nice! Where do I start from? The venues, the clothes, people, everything seemed perfect. I think my lastest crush is Arun!

There were other stories of the rich indian families/people as well. Oh sample this-there was a write up on the premier racing family, the Poonawallas frm Pune (Duh). Anyway their introducction went like this-"They are close to being seen as the only blue-blooded family of Pune. They are industrialists, horse breeders and the biggest players of racing world across western India." LOL, one would think racing world across western India the same as the Ascots.

There are also all the juicy details of the break ups of Saif and Rosa and Hugh and Jemima and link ups as well. Then there are the predictable articles on the latest fashion and designs which I find boring. Its reading the Celebrity gossip that gives me an almost melicious satisfcation.

Another candid shot of Liz-Arun and Liz's son, Damien:

Grab your copies today people!

Sorry seems to be the easiest word

Would saying sorry be fine?
For everything done,
intentionally and unintentionally.
How I wish I could undo
all the unhappiness and tears.
But they're irrevocable now.
And all I can do is to say sorry.
