Wishful thoughts

Things I'd rather be doing right now instead of working and feeling feverish:

1) Sleeping under my quilt!
2) Get a hug.
3) Be with my parents.
4) Go for a walk.
5) Have a nice cup of ginger tea. Hmmm...

Ok, time to get back to my work, sigh... Wat would you guys be rather doing as well? Comon, tell all!

:-)

Mehendi, K and more

I felt flighty on Saturday so I dragged K to the Market and got Mehendi done in my hand. If you look carefully you'll see that its a peacock thats been drawn on the hand. Like it? I love it :-D Yesterday was April Fools Day, did u guys manage to pull up any tricks? ;-) I tried n failed miserably! :-( Pete, I still cant forgive u! Wet blanket, u! :-p

Spent last evening with K. We went gorging on Street food and watched 'Namastey London'. Street food of Paneer tikki and Alu Chat and Kulfi was great but the movie was equally disastrous :-( Dont even make the mistake of watching it! It was CRAP. Akshay was acting so dumb. K loves him so he defended him saying the movie made him look bad. Watever! Katrina plays the dumb British brat with such an elan that by the end you want to throttle her to shut her up! But I thought Katrina's Brit bf was kinda cute but even he couldnt act to save his life or the movie. Anyway, my advice-do not waste time or cash on the movie!

K's moved to Jaipur today and I dont know when he'll be back. Anyway K now that ur gone, I can say that I'll miss you loads. Wonder who's going to bring me my daily quota of milk n bananas? ;-) But all the best with the new job! Im sure u'll have fun. Take care n get back soon to Delhi. Best wishes, Buddy.

Barapani Lake

I have been meaning to upload these pics in ages but, but they just remain to be done. I was in Barapani sometime January and the weather was glorious, just the right amount of Sun for a walk by the Lake. There's a story behind this Lake, as far as I can remember it was about this two sisters who were coming down from Heaven to Barapani. Only one of them made it here and she cried her heart out into a Lake because of that! By the way, this Lake is also called Umiam Lake. Check out the mist in this pic! Wonder who lives there all isolated? I couldnt have done that!
How abt a ride with a view people? And this, is one of my fav pics! Isnt the blueness of the watre against the wild flowers awesomely striking?
Take care people!

Hello!

Hello Magazine hits Indian Stores!!!

If you're like me, a sucker for Celebrity news and gossip, this is the magazine for you. What would make you a Celebrity news sucker? Well, if you can't get by the day without having read and dissected your copy of DT (Delhi Times) then you're definitely one. Anway Liz and Arun's Wedding was the main story for the first month. Sigh...those wedding pics were so nice! Where do I start from? The venues, the clothes, people, everything seemed perfect. I think my lastest crush is Arun!

There were other stories of the rich indian families/people as well. Oh sample this-there was a write up on the premier racing family, the Poonawallas frm Pune (Duh). Anyway their introducction went like this-"They are close to being seen as the only blue-blooded family of Pune. They are industrialists, horse breeders and the biggest players of racing world across western India." LOL, one would think racing world across western India the same as the Ascots.

There are also all the juicy details of the break ups of Saif and Rosa and Hugh and Jemima and link ups as well. Then there are the predictable articles on the latest fashion and designs which I find boring. Its reading the Celebrity gossip that gives me an almost melicious satisfcation.

Another candid shot of Liz-Arun and Liz's son, Damien:

Grab your copies today people!

Sorry seems to be the easiest word

Would saying sorry be fine?
For everything done,
intentionally and unintentionally.
How I wish I could undo
all the unhappiness and tears.
But they're irrevocable now.
And all I can do is to say sorry.

Central Park, Connaught Place

I was in CP the other day looking for a birthday gift for a friend. Walked through Central Park for the first time. Its made right above the Metro Station and it quite a nice place to walk around with not too many people around, atleast in the late afternoon. There was even an open air concert by Kailash Kher some days ago. Delhi is certainly coming up with some nice and cheap hang out places. Took some pics while walking across the Park. Here they are:
People relaxing in the Park:
I don't know what this is but there's water surrounding the building below:
Sights seen from the Park. Thats the Jeevan Bharti Building:
And this is one of my favourite places in CP, the Stateman Building which also houses the Oxford Book Shop where I go read books, have a good meal and meet up with friends:
People frolicking in the Park:
Pigeons, pigeons everywhere!!! Nice isnt it?
Finally the very familiar and reassuring letter box. Doesnt seeing one give you a nice, cosy feeling? Of letters, memories, smiles, tears and nostalgia?
By the way, the second Dilli Haat was inaugurated in Pitampura today. Anyone interested in giving it a try?

Anyway I have been trying to upload this video for the past one hr. I know, I know, Im a LUDDITE with comps n technology until Ricky came along and helped me! Thanks Buddy! :-) Tell me wat u guys think abt her new look and the song!

The pursuit of happyness and more

Anyone watched this movie? Watched it sometime last week and for once I liked Will Smith in some movie. I loved him in "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air". Anyway this is a movie based on a true story of a man living in utter penury, overcoming it and coming out stronger and richer, ofcourse. The last scene when Will Smith walks amongst the crowd with full of emotions was so touching. I was on the verge of tears! But my favourite scene was one where both father and son check into a hotlel and fall alseep watching TV. Christopher Juniour sleeping on his father's lap wiht his mouth wide open was so cute! :-) I loved one of its dialogues:
Will Smith: Dont ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. All right?
Son: All right.
Solid advice, I'd say.
Anyway my lathest crush is the SON! Yup, thats right. Im gonna wait for him to grow into a dashing young man and then we'll take it from there ;-) hehehe

Oh yes, another thing, I bought a digicam for myself last Sunday. I was getting the tired of having to borrow my parents' as well as Sonu's. Im sure the feelings mutual. Anyway, I bought a Canon 4 megapixel cam for 8 something. I got confused whether to buy a 4 MP or a 6 MP cam so I ended up calling Him. Yes, I did call him. Why? Coz amongst all my friends I think hes the one with the widest knowledge on everything. I cant do anything without having his opinion. More like receiving his blessings or some green signal of sorts. Uff. Thats wat I did for my laptop as well. I will get over doing this just the way Im getting over him. Anyway the camera's cool and Im happy taking pictures most of the time.

Went to JNU yest to submit my application forms. Took some pics. Should upload them soon. I dont know, I didnt like JNU! Why? Its like being in the middle of nowhere, well, in the middle of a JUNGLE. Found it scarey! Wonder how it would be if I had to walk around the campus at night? :-o Is it just me or the place is just not becomign me. I did the same yrs ago when I got into St Stephens. Daddy called me all the way from Guwahati, all excited and asked me how i found College. I went, 'Its ok, more like a desert. The trees are too dry.' Lol, insipid, thats me. So I think its me. Im sure once I start living in JNU I'll come to love the place. Thats if I make it. Uff! Im worried.

Oh I can see eveyone getting their visual DNA uploaded in their blogs. I first came across one in Reshma's blog, then Lalit n Ekta. Think I will upload one as well. Ricky and Sanguine, how about you two? Anyway I'm off to bed. Good night people.

Fallen yet beautiful

I have no idea wat this flower's called but love its fiery colour nonetheless. An attention 'receiving' flower I'd say! Its quite ubiquitous around Delhi. This one's taken from the Society where I live.

Experimentation?

All im trying to do with this picture is to show off my ballerina shoes...I lurve them :-D What say you?

Spring's here

Its a lovely time to be in Delhi when the sun is just right to go out for a walk or just to sit in the garden. That was what I was doing the other day while waiting for my mother's meeting to get over. And I'd love to believe that the air is as clean as the blue sky in the background!

oh no!

Blogger sure knows how to test one's patience. Lost an entire post before I could upload it. Here I go again. Yeah, I have all the time in the world to do this! I could go on all night. I do live in exciting times.

Shillong-All Saint's Church

Church in the evening light:Front portion of the church:
Church steeple:What bird is that on the top?
Commemorative Stone: View of the Church from across the road:
This is where I came for Sunday Service as a child when I lived in a hostel. The best part of Sunday Service was the Sunday School classes where the teacher would tell us stories from the Bible. Best of all was the tea that followed after that!

Shillong-All Saint's School

This is the lane from the gate that leads to the school building. Its nice to walk underneath the trees on a stone pathway.

This is one of the views of the school building. Studied here a long time ago. Some time in 1993/94. Was good to visit it after a long time.

Shillong-Bishop's Kuti

Signboard outside the Bishop's house: A bad shot of the Bishop's House: Dont know why I didnt bother getting more shots of this place? Please dont miss the ubiquitous Ambassador in the pic. Its one of my favourite cars!
